Genre-spanning artist and LGBTQ+ advocate Wrabel is making fans “happier” with the release of his latest single along with the announcement of his chapter of me EP, which will come out on April 21st.
Wrabel released “happier” on January 27th, giving fans a refreshing start to the new year. On the coat tails of his latest release, Wrabel also announced his EP, chapter of me, which is the first part of a larger project that’s on it’s way. Following his last album, these words are all for you too, “happier” takes a break from his usual heartbreaking lyrics and dramatic ballads and instead flips the narrative. “happier” is about what happens when the healing begins.
Not only is “happier” different from the lyrical route Wrabel typically takes, but it’s also musically diverse. Sonically, the song layers a solid, unshakable guitar line, attention-grabbing vocals and driving percussion, straying from his melodic piano moments.
The song release was also accompanied by a music video depicting Wrabel leaving his lover for a colorful tea party with his friends while lounging by the pool. We can’t help but wish we were right there with him. The video is delectably sweet and filled to the brim with sentimental moments that remind us that heartbreak doesn’t last forever.
Also known for working with artists like P!nk, Kesha, Marshmello, Ellie Goulding and The Backstreet Boys, Wrabel has established himself in the pop world through both his own music and his collaborations. With over 4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Wrabel will continue to defy genre standards and push the envelope for other queer artists.
The chapter of me tracklist is as follows:
- “happier”
- “one drink away”
- “on the way down”
- “you got yours”
- “feel it now (alive)”
