In April of 2015, Sabrina Carpenter, then not yet 16 unveiled her debut album Eyes Wide Open. The album was filled with great maturity we don’t see often by a Disney starlet that early in the game, but Carpenter has effortlessly proved herself to be different than the rest. In fact, she might be our favorite Disney girl of this generation.
Carpenter has a drive, vision and maturity unlike any other. It’s evident in the music she creates, and how she speaks to everyone who comes in contact with the starlet. “I’m living in an adult world and I’m very lucky to do what I love, but it does come with roller coasters of emotion. Thank goodness artists take inspiration from emotion because its allowed me to put all these feelings and all these stories into songs I’ve made.”
Those emotions from Carpenter have not been taken for granted. She’s already been highly successful with over 5 million views on her latest music video for leading single ‘On Purpose’ from her sophomore album EVOLution, a sold out headlining tour, and 9 million followers on Instagram with a bigger audience to gain from her new album dropping October 14.
Carpenter has been singing since she opened her mouth and we love what we’ve been hearing. She’s got the grace and maturity to shine. We love her, and we are so excited for what’s to come. The success she is building is just the beginning of what could turn into a long lasting career. “I can’t imagine my life without music,” says Carpenter. “I don’t want to make puns of my songs, but it’s a thumbprint. It’s my next step, a part of my journey that I’m super proud of.”
