Not many artists can capture entropy and emotion in its purest form. But, London, UK native Jasmine Thompson isn’t your ordinary girl. She could be revolutionizing pop/dance music with her honest music and exceptional songwriting.
Thompson began her career by making videos on Youtube and in 2014, she was featured on German deep house producer Robin Schulz’ song “Sun Goes Down”. The song charted in the top 10 in multiple countries including, Australia, Germany and Switzerland. Ever since her wild success with the track, Thompson has been well on her way to stardom.
Before the success of “Sun Goes Down,” Thompson released a cover of Naughty Boy’s single “La La La”, and in August released three different covers from Taylor Swift, David Guerra and Passenger. Soon after, she released her debut album a Bundle of Tantrums, featuring several covers. But covers isn’t the only thing that Thompson does best.
While she’s released several EP’s and albums with covers, the singer/songwriter is slowly coming into her own with her EP Adore, her single “Mad World” and the new track “Steady 1234” that she features on with Vice. Her sound is infectious and her voice is pure gold. According to us, we think Thompson is well on her way to the big leagues. Pretty soon, we might see her playing stadiums and performing on big stages at award shows. She’s got the star-power and determination, and it’s only a matter of time before she gets there.
You can listen to Jasmine Thompson’s newest single “Mad World” now on Apple Music.
