- Lorde releases new single “Green Light”
After taking some time away from the music scene, Lorde is finally back and better than ever with her brand new song “Green Light”. This is the first track she’s released since winning over thousands with her debut release of Pure Heroine. It’s certainly different but it still reminds us of the Lorde that we know and love. Along with the new song, she announced the title of her highly anticipated new album, Melodrama. We can’t wait to hear more of what the pop superstar has been working on over the last few years.
2. Ed Sheeran Releases New Album Divide
We’ve been waiting years and months for this new release from Ed Sheeran and it’s finally here. His new album Divide. released Friday (March 3) is everything we thought it would be and more. It debuted at the top of the iTunes Charts and is expected to go No.1 on Billboard. Sheeran is back, and it was definitely worth the wait.
3. Keith Urban celebrates another No.1
Keith Urban loves success. It’s obvious because his songs keep hitting No.1. Friday, March 3, Keith Urban and the songwriters for his No.1 hit “Blue Ain’t Your Color” celebrated the hit at the Basement East in Nashville. Not only that, but Urban was also surprised with several other plaques. One plaque was for his album Ripcord being No.1 for two weeks in Australia, Canada and the U.S. The other plaques celebrated 2 billion streams on Pandora and 40 million streams to date for “Blue Ain’t Your Color”. The last plaque that was given to him was in commemoration of him receiving 37 consecutive top 10 hits.
4. The Maine releases their new single “Black Butterflies & Deja Vu”
The Maine is back and better than ever with their new song “Black Butterflies & Deja Vu”. With just over month until their new album release, the band definitely has their fans in a frenzy with this new track. Their new album Lovely Little Lonely will be released on April 7.
5. Maren Morris drops new single “I Could Use A Love Song”
Country newcomer and Grammy-winning artist Maren Morris announced her new single “I Could Use A Love Song”. The songs impact date is March 13 but who’s to say we can’t celebrate early? It’s an amazing choice for a third single, following her other two top 10 hits “My Church” and “80’s Mercedes”. Listen to the song below:
6. Radio Disney Music Awards nominees announced
The nominees for the RDMA’s have been announced and the list is incredible. The RDMA’s is not your typical award show. Winners are chosen by you, the fans. The people nominated include Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift and Zayn, Kelsea Ballerini and more. It’s bound to be a great show.
