Unorthodox Jukebox, the new album from Bruno Mars is here! Read our review.
I recently (as in yesterday) got tickets to see my favorite artist, Bruno Mars, this summer on The Moonshine Jungle Tour. Happy 18th birthday to me! I was on iTunes & Spotify earlier today and I saw that Bruno is STILL #1 on the charts. That makes my heart so happy. I’ve been a fan of Bruno Mars since he first walked into the music scene. I’ve always been a fan of his music, his look, his stage performance (A+++++), & just him. Overall. He has the entire package & I think artists like him are rare to come by. Especially nowadays. I met him once at a tiny little concert venue & he is too too sweet. Another reason to love him.
I got Bruno’s CD, Unorthodox Jukebox the first day it was released & the music on the album is superb. I feel like the main artists in today’s music industry are mostly known for the songs that are or have been #1 on the charts. I sometimes get frustrated because there are other songs on the album that are equally as awesome, if not better. It’s a shame that those songs gets shadowed on by the singles.
I mostly wanted to write this blog post to introduce you guys to some Bruno Mars songs OTHER THAN Locked Out of Heaven & When I Was Your Man. Even if you’re not a fan of Bruno, I hope you’ll take the time to listen to these songs & see the amazing talent he has.
My favorite on the album is a song called Money Make Her Smile. The beat on this song is craaaaazy. If you’re a dancer, or just love to groove, this song is for YOU. I really wish he would’ve picked this as a single. Hopefully he will in the future.
Another groovy tune is a song called Treasure. I feel like I’m being blasted back to the 1970’s (hence the word “groovy”) with this song. Take a listen and pleeeeease tell me I’m not the only one who wants to dance under the disco light to this song.
If you like Bob Marley, Show Me is the song for you. This is one of the many reasons why I love Bruno Mars. He can do ANYTHING. He can go from a soft ballad to a reggae feel and still pull it off. It’s crazy.
The last song that I picked is one called If I Knew. When I first heard this song, I lost all my sanity. I’m a fan of the 50’s & I really believe I was born the wrong time decade. Everything about that era I love. This song teleports me to the 1950’s where I would be singing this song in a diner wearing a poodle skirt & sipping on a chocolate milkshake (and Bruno would obviously be serenading me shhhh!). Highly recommend listening to this song if you love the oldies.
Obviously there are more songs on the album that I didn’t talk about, but YOU should still listen to them.
If you get a chance, buy tickets to see Bruno this summer. I promise you, you WILL NOT regret it. Bruno is a rare artist & I wish everybody in the world could get a chance to witness his magic. Check to see if Bruno is coming to your city here: http://www.brunomars.com/moonshinejungletour!
