Since releasing Superbloom in 2020, MisterWives has uploaded multiple videos to their YouTube channel. We can’t wait until they can tour again! While we eagerly await their return to the stage, here are our top three favorite music videos they have released so far.
3. the end
This song kicks off their 2020 album, Superbloom. The visual effects in this video are powerful and stay true to the Misterwives brand. The lead singer, Mandy, wears bright colors to match the look of the scene around her. One of our favorite parts of this video is when they go through old items in a wagon. The lyrics that follow are “All good things come to an end to make room for new beginnings.” This is a great metaphor for that phrase. It ends accordingly with a “the end” street sign that’s knocked down. Through satin and bright colors and costumes, this music video is one to remember.
2. decide to be happy
In this video the star is yet again, Mandy. She plays 2 different characters, one as someone who is obviously feeling off and bummed out and another who is encouraging her to be happy. It’s a theme that we don’t often, if ever, see in music videos. Another fun thing about this video is there is part of it that is a mock zoom call with the whole band. It’s very appropriate to today’s times and instead of zoom, it’s named superzoom. These clever details are subtle things that are fun to catch. At the end of the video, she ends up boosting her mood and she becomes happy and excited. Mandy does such a great job portraying happiness and energy through her body language and expressions.
1. 3 small words
The choreography in this video is amazing and perfectly timed. It begins with an eerie feel which is the opposite of the song’s feel. When the beat comes in the vibe changes to an upbeat happy tone. A unique part of this video is the character that is in what looks like a ghillie suite made of flowers. Another great part of this video is when they get ice cream, the stand says 3 small scoops as a play on the song title. There are cuts to the band playing the song that are perfectly timed and keep you intrigued. You can tell that a lot of thought and time went into making this video. Mandy’s energy shines through this video and it’ll have you smiling all the way through.
These three music videos are all cohesive to MisterWives brand today. We thought it would be fun to show one of their first music videos as well. The growth this band has had is incredible and we can’t wait for them to go on tour again!
