Thrival has definitely made itself a Pittsburgh staple throughout the years, going from an unknown festival to an event that people travel across states for. The festival, which includes innovation and music over the span of a few days, takes place at Pittsburgh’s Carrie Furnaces. This is no ordinary venue. This is an old blast furnace from 1907, which shut down in 1978. Since then, this historic Pittsburgh location has been without life besides Autumn Tours given to locals. Thrival sees the historical location, and recognizes its capability for events.
This year, Thrival has brought Artists like Two Door Cinema Club, Carnage, and Logic to Pittsburgh for the first day of the music festival. In past years, Thrival has had alot of band performances, but this year they decided to switch it up. With the growing EDM culture in Pittsburgh, they brought out a lot more EDM artists and even DJ Afterthought, who you can see working with Riff Raff and Choo Jackson. Ending the night with a heartfelt performance from Logic, day one of Thrival Festival was a huge success.
