British pop-rock band TheVamps signed to Island Records released their latest single “Chemicals” on Thursday. The band consisting of guitarist and lead singer Brad Simpson, bassist Connor Ball, drummer Tristan Evans, and lead guitarist James McVey formed back in 2012 and began by uploading covers to their YouTube channel.
Their platinum-selling debut album Meet the Vamps was released in 2014 and debuted at number two on the Irish Albums Chart and UK Albums Chart. Their debut US single was a new version of their song “Somebody to You” that featured popular American singer Demi Lovato. An EP followed and was titled the same name as the single.
Since 2014, the band has released four albums, eight UK Top 40 hits, and five top ten singles on the UK Top 40. With their constant world tours, they have become the first and only band to headline the famous O2 Arena in London five years in a row.
Their newest song “Chemicals” showcases the band’s playful side and spotlights the high of new love. It precedes their upcoming album Cherry Blossom that will be released on October 16 as the second single from the album, which is the most personal album of TheVamps to date. It will serve as a band “re-vamp” and will guide them into a new musical era.
“Chemicals is a really important track for us, it’s essentially the DNA of the album and so a real indicator of what the Cherry Blossom sound is” said Simpson. “ The response to ‘Married in Vegas’ has been incredible so far, we can’t wait to share more of this chapter of the band with you all ahead of the album’s release in October.”

Since then, it has racked up almost five million plays on Spotify alone, not including the remixed versions. The official video on YouTube has also accumulated over a million views.
