Stepping into a music venue, the feeling of anticipation hits you almost immediately. Fans, who have been waiting since 2 am, are pressed up against the barricade waiting eagerly for their favorite artist to take the stage. Photographers are lineup nearby, scrolling through Instagram, meeting others and sharing their excitement for what they’re about to capture on stage.
Stepping into any venue on The Wait For You Tour, the anticipation is not only double what you normally expect but five times that. Across the room, two fans exchange a hug as they meet for the first time after being friends over the internet for two years. On the other side of the room, a fan celebrates her 21st birthday with a shot of tequila and a hug from nearby close friends. But ultimately, what unifies every single fan in the room is their dedication for the night ahead.
During April and May of 2019, Just Seconds Apart, Logan Henderson and Jake Miller traveled across the United States, making stops at some of the most historic venues in the nation. Bringing their electric energy and authentic sounds to the stage, fans went out of their way to miss high school graduations, proms and more to attend a series of dates that packed a lot of energy in a little time.
A trio of siblings, Just Seconds Apart are, quite literally, just seconds apart. The triplets performed a capturing and energetic set filled with live instruments, catchy vocals and made for a perfect set. Although sometimes forced to soundcheck while fans had been let inside the venue, JSA didn’t let that stop them from having a good time.
Next, pop singer Logan Henderson took the stage, bringing a fiery attitude and eclectic sound to the stage. The ability to connect with fans is a superpower and Henderson demonstrated just that. Grabbing hands in the front row, waving to those in the back and sharing smiles across the board, Henderson’s set was inclusive and was truthfully, a breath of fresh air in the pop industry with dedication, passion and overall authenticity showed on stage.
Finally, the moment fans had traveled across the country for had arrived, Jake Miller was about to take the stage. From nearby, a few fans noted that they had driven to at least five shows on the tour, in fact, tonight was going to be their sixth, and the moment Miller takes the stage will never get old.
Throughout the night, Miller performed with ease and passion across the stage. Apparent throughout his set each night, it’s apparent that Miller writes songs that he truly believes in and cherishes. His own personal experiences influence his music, which captures his emotion and shows why Miller has quickly risen to the top of many charts as one of his fans’ favorite artist.
While The Wait For You Tour was a short night of music, mostly due to curfews at an all-ages tour, the tour packed a bunch on fans of all artists and left them wanting more. Throughout each night, fans packed into venues to hear the songs they’ve listened to on repeat each day and it clearly showed. A feeling of inclusivity, dedication, and love was demonstrated at each night of the tour by not only the fans but the artists on stage.
