August may be quickly drawing to a close, but sibling duo The Driver Era are on the road delivering all the delicious escapism of endless summer on their 2022 tour. With stops across the west coast (including three California dates) this week, brothers Ross and Rocky Lynch will feel entirely at home along the beaches of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Pomona.
With their latest single “Malibu,” the band has set the tone for their next album, fittingly titled Summer Mixtape. Propelled by an undeniably groovy bass line, “Malibu” combines elements of indie-pop and dance to perfectly capture the effortless dreaminess of summer days on the beach–as well as further the band’s genre-bending style. As the band shared, “‘Malibu’ is about reminiscing on experiences in the best locations. It’s about getting away. It’s the spontaneous trip you take with someone — maybe you knew them before, or maybe you’re meeting them for the first time. The accompanying video, shot and edited by Tate Warner, provides a fitting visual complement as the brothers sing along the waves of a Malibu beach.
Thankfully, fans don’t have long to wait for more from The Driver Era. With a release date of September 16, Summer Mixtape is only a month away, followed by tour stops in Japan, Australia, Europe, and the UK. For tickets and to pre-order the album, visit https://www.thedriverera.com.
