Tegan and Sara have announced their ninth studio album, Hey, I’m Just Like You. The album, out September 27, is a re-imagining of songs the duo originally wrote together in high school.
While writing their memoir “High School,” out September 24, Tegan and Sara found cassette tapes of songs they had recorded over 20 years ago. The duo decided to use these songs as the demos for their new album. Saving the lyrics with minor additions, while preserving the melodies, honesty and essence of the songs.
Hey, I’m Just Like You is the first Tegan and Sara record written, recorded, produced and mastered by a team of all women. The team includes: Alex Hope (producer), Rachael Findlen (engineer), Beatriz Artola (mixing), Emily Lazar (mastering), Annie Kennedy (assistant engineer), Carla Azar (drums) and Catherine Hiltz (bass).
