Taylor Swift just released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) two months ago, so her fans were surprised yet excited when the singer announced she would be releasing her version of Red on November 19. One of the songs on the album will be ten minutes long, according to a note Swift wrote to her fans.
There has been plenty of discussion in the Swiftie universe that 1989 would be the next album in line to be re-recorded, however Swift had a change of plans and chose Red to come up next. This album contained some of her hit songs such as “22” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.”
Swift said in her most recent post, “Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person. It was all over the place, a fractured mosaic of feelings that somehow all fit together in the end. Happy, free, confused, lonely, devastated, euphoric, wild, and tortured by memories past. Like trying on pieces of a new life, I went into the studio and experimented with different sounds and collaborators. And I’m not sure if it was pouring my thoughts into this album, hearing thousands of your voices sing the lyrics back to me in passionate solidarity, or if it was simply time, but something was healed along the way.”
Her album Fearless (Taylor’s Version) was the first re-recorded album to top the charts at No.1 in history. Her album, which originally came out back in 2008, contained music from back in Swift’s country days that we all grew up on, such as “You Belong With Me” and “Love Story.”
Swift had told her fans two years ago that she planned to re-release her own version of her first six studio albums. This came after Scooter Braun obtained her master recordings, which lead the singer to come up with the idea to recreate all of her old hits that over a decade later, we still can’t get enough of.
