SZA goes all out for this special virtual performance.
The TDE singer delivered a visually stunning and immersive concert experience, performing many songs from her Ctrl album and her most recent hits such as “Hit Different” and “Kiss Me More” (sadly, no Doja Cat). The livestream shows SZA performing in beautifully decorated sets ranging from a moving RV to a beach on Rancho Dos Pueblos to a watery studio set that makes it look like she’s walking on water.
It’s just great to hear SZA sing live again. Her voice is absolutely angelic and just straight butter! Hearing her sing “The Weekend,” “Broken Clocks,” and “Supermodel” just brought us back to a time when life was simple. What a year 2017 was.
Speaking of which, this concert held a special significance as it was a celebration of the four-year anniversary of her Grammy nominated debut album, Ctrl.
The livestream also came with a couple of big surprises. She brought on Isaiah Rashad for a performance of their song “Pretty Little Birds.” But the biggest surprise came during “Love Galore.” It wouldn’t be complete without Houston’s own, Travi$ Scott. The rapper made a guest appearance for the song and the two were absolute magic.
Before the show, SZA went on Twitter trying to get Scott to perform the song live one more time. Who knew it would be this soon or was this the plan all along? Whatever it was, thank god for making this happen. We needed this.
Can somebody ask Travis to perform love galore w me one last time for old times sake. Ion got his number lol .

This virtual concert is part of American Express’s UNSTAGED concert series during their American Express Membership Week, showing appreciation to their members with a range of offers and experiences. SZA is only the latest artist to perform for their AMEX concert series, joining the likes of Alicia Keys, Sam Smith, Dua Lipa and more.
SZA has been silently working on her second studio album. Our only tastes of it are from her lead singles “Hit Different” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and “Good Days.” There is no official release date for it yet but we hope it’s sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed!
The UNSTAGED performance was a great show overall. Ctrl is a classic and hearing them live again was such a special treat. She delivered a wonderful and dynamic performance that kept us captivated. She truly went out and made this an experience.
Happy four-year anniversay Ctrl!
