Canadian singer, songwriter and producer sunsetto (Kyle Mischiek) is back with a new single titled “drugs are fun” – a dance bop that will leave you with a floating feeling.
The song was written by sunsetto, himself, and produced by Danes Blood and BEN10K to give it the upbeat feel we hear. While it sounds like a fun, party track, the lyrics go much deeper than that.
In its grand scheme, the song alludes to the dangers of drugs and partying. After developing coping mechanisms that stemmed from this behavior, the artist was led to having serious conversations that altered his life. It’s the harsh reality of taking the high road in order to live a better, and more healthy life.
The music video was shot in Nova Scotia, Canada and featured the artist’s childhood landscape, bringing a sense of comfort to the video. He recently found out he has Mi’kmaq (indigenous) roots and looks to support others with a similar background, using his platform.
sunsetto first stepped into the music scene in 2021 with his single “don’t leave”, showing a fusion of R&B, alternative and pop. After much attraction, sunsetto released two more singles titled “good connection” and “downtown”, leading towards his debut EP – we can’t wait to hear it!
