Say goodbye to midterm exams and study sessions and hello to warm weather and spring break! Whether you are going to the sandy beaches of Miami or down the PCH in California, you’re going to need a playlist to jam to. So without further ado, here are seven must-listen-to songs that you have to have on your spring break playlist this year.
1. “The Spins” by Mac Miller
A spring break playlist would be incomplete without Mac Miller. This song was (and still is) a complete hit at parties and never fails to get anyone up and dancing. Released in 2010 off his album K.I.D.S., the album encapsulates warm-summery vibes and what it meant to be a teenager back in the 2010s. Sampling bits and pieces from Empire of the Sun’s “Half Mist,” this song is the perfect embodiment of nostalgia for Zillenials and deserves to still be played with the windows down.
2. “3 Nights” by Dominic Fike
The debut single off his first album, Don’t Forget About Me, Demos, is the ultimate night drive anthem for you and your friends. “3 Nights” with its catchy and reggae-inspired beats, became a TikTok sensation back in 2019 and still manages to gain over 800 million streams on Spotify alone. So if you and your friends find yourself in the “City of Palms” in Florida this spring break, this song is an absolute must-add.
3. “Time of Our Lives” by Pitbull ft. Ne-Yo
Mr. Worldwide! If you are going to Miami this spring break, it would be an actual crime to not include Mr. 305 on your spring break playlist. “Time of Our Lives” is all about living in the moment and having the absolute time of your lives– and what better way to live up to the King of Miami’s words than listening to this song with your best friends?
4. “The Weekend” by SZA (Calvin Harris Remix)
Easily one of the best remixes of a song, Calvin Harris and SZA deliver serious summer realness when it comes to this song. “The Weekend,” originally a soft-beat and contemporary R&B song, becomes incredibly funk-ified in the best way possible. Even with the song all about sharing a man in a relationship, there’s no excuse to not jam out to SZA with your girlfriends.
5. “Stay Next To Me” by Quinn XCII ft. Chelsea Cutler
Chelsea Cutler and Quinn XCII know how to make a duet work, which explains how they are able to make such great hits like “Stay Next to Me.” “Stay Next To Me” is all about being with your person and that no matter where you are, the only thing that matters is your person being right by your side. With the song’s catchy chorus and coming-of-age, pop sound, we couldn’t recommend this song enough to listen to.
6. “Little Surfer Girl” by The Yetis
For those looking to catch waves this spring break, look no further! “Little Surfer Girl” is the perfect song for those look to spend their day laying by the beach or want to watch the surfers do their thing. With its coastal beats and ’70s soft-rock sound, it’ll be a great addition to your beach day tunes.
7. “Slipping Away” by LEISURE
Last but not least, “Slipping Away” by LEISURE feels like the perfect Pacific Coast Highway song to drive with. It’s incredibly smooth and groovy– and feels as if you are actually slipping away into relaxation and vacation vibes. If you are a fan of Tame Impala, you definitely want to check out LEISURE and their tracks.
Now that you have a playlist ready for spring break, go enjoy and bask in the sun!
