The Washington D.C trio, SHAED who’s career has taken off like wildfire premiered their music video for their colorful single ‘Just Wanna See’. It’s surprising to see how much they’ve grown, knowing they put their first pieces of music on Soundcloud this last March, and now, at the beginning of October they have a highly anticipated EP Just Wanna See and a stellar music video to go along with the title track.
“The song came about when we were all hanging out in our basement/makeshift studio,” SHAED’s Max Ernst tells Billboard. “Chelsea [Lee, SHAED’S vocalist] laughed into her phone while posting something on Snapchat — and when it played back it made this really cool snare sound, so we sampled it and started building a beat around it. We really tried to capture the feeling of longing to be with someone who you’re separated from.”
The video is colorful, yet dark symbolizing that feeling well. Chelsea is the main voice in the video, and the message of the track is written all over her face. The song itself is chilling, and when you add the video in the mix, it’s more intense.
Even with lyrics that showcase separation, the sound of SHAED is colorful and upbeat, and it’s proven on the title track and throughout their EP, which you can stream on Apple Music now.
If you like the sounds of Churches, Ellie Goulding or Lights then SHAED is the perfect act to add to your playlist.
