On February 4, Sam Weber dropped his newest album, Get Free. The singer-songwriter, multifaceted musician and producer has made his first debut in 2022 and you won’t want to miss it.
Get Free was crafted by Weber, his co-producer Mallory Hauser and their friend Danny Austin-Manning over the many months of lockdown. The 10-song album perfectly encapsulates Weber’s talent as an artist and it’s just what we needed to start off the new year.
As stated in the album’s press release:
“‘Danny would come over and the three of us would turn on the microphones and give these wild, unchained performances of the material,’ Weber recalls. ‘Because our only option was to make it in our house, it gave us permission to let it be what was going to be and not get wrapped up in the details, and in turn, I think that allowed the veil between the performances and the hearts of each song to be very thin. I called the record Get Free because each performance of each song was a moment of transcendence and an escape for us from an otherwise odd, restrictive time.’”
Weber is embarking on a 30-stop tour across the country to perform his latest work in February and March. He kicked off the first stop last week in California and is closing things out in Missouri. Special guests J.E. Sunde, The Ladles and Matthew Fowler will accompany Weber at a number of shows.
