Singer-songwriter ROSIE released her latest single, “Sad Sad Sad.”
The mellow ballad finds the 21-year-old going through states of depression and grief, struggling to get back on the right track. She delivers a moving performance. You can feel the emotions through her rich and angelic voice.
She also dropped the music video for “Sad Sad Sad.” We see her in a red dress, alone and isolated from the world as she explores various terrains such as the forest, desert and ocean. It’s a visual that perfectly complements the theme of the song.
“Sad Sad Sad” is the latest in the build-up of her upcoming debut EP. ROSIE talks about the single in a press release and what it means to her:
“The song represents acceptance and how, after a full year of healing and growing, sadness can still creep in. This feeling is a reminder that sometimes there are certain scars that never go away, and when sadness is accepted it can serve as a lesson to never repeat the same mistake twice.”
This comes after the release of her last single, “To Get Over You,” which dropped last month. The break-up ballad quickly became a favorite, sitting at over 225.5K streams on Spotify alone.
The newly-signed Arista Records artist is quickly carving out a name for herself. She had a break-out year in 2020 when she released her song “Never The 1,” garnering over 13 million streams. It not only marked her talent as a singer-songwriter but as a person.
ROSIE is as real as it gets — and that’s what she intends to express in her music. 100% authenticity. She holds nothing back and is unafraid to show everyone the real her. The ups and downs. The good and bad. She wants to let the world know that she’s human, like everyone else.
She’s just beginning to scratch the surface of who she is and we can’t wait to see where she goes.
