Returning to Chicago for the 17th time, Riot Fest 2022 will take place in Douglass Park over the weekend of September 16-18. After the initial postponement of the festival in 2020 due to the pandemic, My Chemical Romance announced they’d be postponing their reunion tour til 2022–subsequently postponing their appearance at Riot Fest as well. As fans anxiously await for the full lineup to drop, the promise of the two acts confirmed (pandemic-willing), My Chemical Romance and The Original Misfits, speak to this year of Riot Fest being one you don’t want to miss.

17 years in the running, the punk/rock festival known as Riot Fest is also one of the biggest independently owned music festivals in the US. With previous years seeing appearances from the likes of acts such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Slipknot, Blink 182, Neck Deep, Weezer, Rise Against, Nine Inch Nails, Paramore, Turnstile, Rob Zombie–we can’t wait to see what the 2022 lineup will hold this spring.
