Neon lights and booming indie-pop exploded through the standing room of Chicago’s Subterranean for COIN’s sold-out show last Friday. The Nashville-based boys took the stage with a hour set featuring nine alternative anthems from their self-titled debut album.
The intimate venue was a sweet frenzy of jam-packed fans and electric enthusiasm. As the group took the stage, the connection between band and fans was instantaneous.
COIN’s takeover of the venue wasn’t just southern charm and the luck of a good crowd, there’s legitimate talent there. They have cleverly captured a sound of feel-good indie-pop, synth vibes, and sing-along vocals that will undoubtably have them gaining fans and outgrowing venues.
