On September 25th, 2022, Remi Wolf’s Gwingle Gwongle tour hit Austin, TX. Her first return since Austin City Limits last October, Wolf made sure Austin felt the groove.
They say everything is bigger in Texas, and in opener Orion Sun’s words, “so is the love”. If you’re a Remi Wolf fan, adding Orion Sun to the bill makes this an absolutely stacked lineup. She set the tone with an upbeat, yet sultry sound. The crowd already knew all the words to all her songs, singing along loudly to the entire set. One dedicated fan was even brought on stage to sing along! Orion Sun’s vocal talent and big smile are infectious. Check out her latest single dirty dancer – A COLORS SHOW before hitting up her next stop on tour. Orion Sun will be accompanying Remi Wolf in Texas, Louisiana, Florida, and Atlanta, before Jordana takes over.
During the set change, a huge, colorful tree with lighted flowers on it and a patchwork couch were revealed on stage. As someone who describes her music as “funky soul pop”, Remi Wolf definitely brought the vibes with her decor. The tour manager saged the stage, and the main act was ready to begin. If you were tired on this Sunday evening, you certainly were not anymore with the first note of Quiet on Set. Lights were flashing, bass was booming, and Remi Wolf was dancing like no one was watching. Her entire set was fast moving and high energy as she played most from her latest album, Juno.
As a senior in high school, Remi Wolf competed on American Idol in 2014. From there, she made her solo debut with You’re a Dog! in 2019, her second EP I’m Allergic to Dogs! in 2020, and most recently, her first studio album, Juno in October 2021. Remi Wold’s music takes bedroom pop and gives it a psychedelic twist. The Gwingle Gwongle tour started September 12th in Santa Cruz and continues through October 16th in Toronto, ON.
