Releasing music is always scary. The artist never knows what to expect or what people will think. They always take big risks, and hope that it is good enough and people enjoy it.
Rajiv Dhall, of Canton Michigan took a big risk when he released his first single as a solo artist titled “Just Can’t Let Her Go”. If the song sounds familiar it’s because before it became Rajiv’s song, it was an unreleased One Direction song! Rajiv got the rights to the song from the writers and producers! They wanted him to have the song. Rajiv, being a big One Direction fan jumped at the opportunity and put a lot of hard work into the song.
Rajiv recorded his version of the song and teased his fans on social media the week of its release, with short 6 to 10 second clips of the song. He then finally released his version July 30th, and to celebrate he dm’d on twitter fans that bought the single, and fans that listened to it and give him their opinions of the song as well.
When he first announced it was now his song, the 1D fandom was questioning it. Some were upset because they wanted the band to release the entire song, and not Rajiv. Some sent Rajiv hateful comments, but he replied with kind words, and asking the fans to give him and his song a chance before they judge. Fortunately when the song came out some of their views changed and instead of the negative remarks, Dhall was showered with positive comments and fans congratulating him.
The next day, Rajiv released the music video for the single. It starred him and some of his closest friends, Tanner Patrick, Gage Fryz and Andrew Bazzi, just to name a few, made appearances throughout the video. The video was very nice and made us laugh a ton!
Rajiv’s version of the song is terrific. He really did the song justice and gave it the release it deserves. In our opinion he did not disappoint anyone. He put a lot of hard work and effort into it, and turned it into something amazing! For an artist who isn’t that well known, he pulled off something great and made many people very proud.
Rajiv got his start with his band TwentyFourSeven on a show called “Opening Act” back in 2012, his band TFS for short, was chosen to be on the show. Members included, close friends Corey DeLuca, Matt Pastor, and Blake Hayes. They stayed a band for a few years after that. It wasn’t until recently the band separated to pursue their own dreams. Although not in a band anymore, they are all still very close friends. When the band separated, Rajiv started working to become a solo artist, and also started posting videos on social media app “Vine” along with covers on YouTube.
Rajiv has made many great accomplishments throughout his career and we know he will continue to make even better ones as time goes on. With his edgy style and beautiful voice, he will be captivating people from all over! Releasing his first single “Just Can’t let Her Go”, was a great start to what will be an amazing music career.
