It’s always a delight when Radiohead returns.
After recently announcing a tour, it seemed almost imminent that a new album would be coming soon, and indeed, it will be coming. The last time Radiohead released an album was in 2011 with a surprise release of The King of Limbs, their eighth album since their career began in 1993.
According to Radiohead’s manager Brian Message, their new album will be released sometime in June alongside their performance at Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, Spain between June 1st and June 5th. It reportedly sounds like “nothing you’ve ever heard”, marking a step in a new direction for the band.
Over the past week, Radiohead fans have been receiving eerie posters in the mail telling them to “burn the witch”. After that, they completely wiped their entire internet presence, deleting all posts and shutting down all of their social media accounts. Their only posts since then have been about their new single, “Burn the Witch”.
The song is out now on iTunes and all streaming platforms.
