After an absence from social media, sharing talk of studio and filming, and sharing lyrics online, Pvris has finally returned with a new track and music video for “Death of Me.”
“Death of Me” is the first new music Pvris has shared since their release of their sophomore album, All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell, back in 2017. The track is a blend of their familiar sound, with a heavier electronic influence mixed in. The video stays true to the groups dark imagery, featuring snakes, knives and other twisted imagery. In a statement, frontwoman Lynn Gunn said,
“We wanted to match the seductive grittiness of the song with uncertain, tense and subliminal visual themes. We also hid—in plain view—references to the occult and divination, to be unpacked by the viewer… if they so choose.”
Pvris also announced a small set of tour dates shortly after the song’s release. Wishing to return to their roots, the band decided to play a set of intimate rooms/venues.
See you in September.
