Pusher, the musical alias for Martin Bernie, is an electronic-pop artist/producer originally from Toronto, Canada. With his incorporation of R&B, pop and Jazz into his electronic/hyper-pop music, the pop-culture lover has already garnered 50 million catalog streams and over 500,000 monthly Spotify listeners. His success has also allowed him to tour with big artists such as The Chainsmokers and Zeds Dead.
Today (July 30) marks the release of his new music video for his single “Back In Time.” This is the fourth single to spawn from his upcoming debut album, Stay-at-Home Popstar, which will drop later this year—the other singles to accompany the album are “I Could Give It Up,” “I Can’t Believe It” and “Advertising.”
The music video for “Back In Time” is a retro, nostalgia-packed adventure. Using a mix of comic and video-game visuals and references, Pusher takes on the role of the hero and must travel through time to assemble a band comprised of history’s greatest musicians, both real and fictional, to save the future of music! By the end of the video, our hero creates an ensemble that among its ranks includes the likes of Madonna, The Beatles, Marty McFly and a caveman, all played by Pusher (I smell an Oscar). Overall, the music video is a zany, humorous, pixilated adventure, perfect for “Back In Time’s” digital sound.
