In 2012, the pop-band FUN. and fashion designer Rachel Antonoff joined forces and introduced the Ally Coalition to the world. The Ally Coalition is an organization focused on creating a collective of allies to help support the LGBTQ community and end discrimination against the community itself. Through education, awareness, and advocacy, the organization has brought together some of the biggest names in music, fashion, and entertainment to support the LGBTQ community in a variety of ways.
For the last four years, Jack Antonoff (Bleachers, FUN.) has brought together a slew of musicians, actors, and comedians for the Ally Coalition Talent Show in New York, NY. The show was started as a response to help support homeless and at risk LGBTQ youth. In years past, the show has featured artists like Carly Rae Jepsen, Lauren Mayberry (CHVRCHES), Charli XCX, Andrew McMahon, and more. This year, the event will feature Bleachers, Kacey Musgraves, Lorde, The National, to name a few. The event will take place on January 24th at Town Hall in New York City. Please visit the Ally Coalition‘s website for more information about the event.
In honor of this year’s Talent Show benefit, we’ve created a playlist celebrating all the artists that have played the event and supported the cause over the years.
