Philadelphia duo Sound Photographers – comprised of singer/songwriters Indy James and Hoozmo – has just released their debut single “Shade”. The funky track plays into the band’s alt-hop sound, while delivering a message of optimism. “Fundamentally, this song is about hope,” says the band. “The verses are about our collective journey through this crazy time. Things are what they are right now, and we can be courageous in the face of it. Getting there together makes us stronger. The sky don’t fear the thunder.”
Despite this being the band’s debut single, the duo have been working together since meeting at a show in 2017. Their chemistry is instantly apparent on “Shade”, as both James and Hoozmo deliver vocals on the track and bring different, yet equally impressive qualities to their respective verses. The song is an exciting first step for the band and we already can’t wait for more.
