Columbia Records artist Powfu released his latest track “the way that you see me,” featuring labelmates Rxseboy and Sarcastic Sounds, as well as Ayleen Valentine known for her popular lo-fi song “Close Your Eyes.”
“This song is a reminder that focusing on your own problems will only continue to weigh you down,” Powfu shared. “Instead, focus on helping take the weight off of others, and you will find your own weight has been lifted as well.”
The release was accompanied by a DIY music video made at Powfu’s home.

Every other Thursday, Powfu hosts conversations with friends and artists live on Discord. Last Thursday on February 18, he spoke with his “the way that you see me” collaborators Rxseboy and Sarcastic Sounds. Coming up on March 4, he will have previous collaborator sleep.ing. as a guest.
Back in November, he released his 8-track EP some boring love stories pt. 5, which showcased his evolving spectrum and relatable storytelling.
Powfu’s EP rounded out an incredible year for him and led to his massive double Platinum hit song “death bed (coffee for your head),” which captured the masses and accumulated over two billion worldwide streams after going viral on TikTok. It brought him to the forefront of the 2020 music scene, positioning him as one of the main pioneers bringing the lo-fi genre to the mainstream.
His debut album poems of the past was released earlier that year in May. It includes six tracks with classic collaborations like Sarcastic Sounds and Rxseboy, as well as Jomie, ivri, sleep.ing, and even blink-182. Powfu’s collaboration with blink-182, one of his favorite bands, is a remix of his most popular song “death bed (coffee for your head).”
