Porridge Radio have shared the music video for their new single “A Hole In The Ground.” The song will be the second track on the English band’s upcoming fourth studio album Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me. The record will be released on October 18 via Secretly Canadian. Hear the new song and watch the video below.
“A Hole in the Ground” features the trademark Porridge Radio keyboard tones from member Georgie Stott that fans adore. In a release, singer Dana Margolin describes the song as a gentle lullaby. Margolin, known for her devastating way with words, sings “Take off all of my clothes and run to your house / where in place of a door is a hole in the ground / And I fill it with salt, the hard bits of my heart / they fall into the hole and they tear it apart.”
The music video for “A Hole In The Ground” was recorded during Porridge Radio’s sold-out performance at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. It was creatively directed by both Margolin and her sister Ella Margolin, who has had a hand in producing much of the band’s promotional material and prior videos. Set designer Ellie Wintour helped bring the idea of using mimes, sculptors and shadows to the stage.
“A Hole In The Ground” is the latest single from Clouds In The Sky They Will Always Be There For Me. Porridge Radio released the record’s closing track “Sick Of The Blues” in late July. Listen to it and watch its music video here.
