The duo we never knew we needed- Still Woozy and Remi Wolf. Their voices match each other perfectly in “Pool,” their new single together.
Remi starts off the song and wow- voice of an angel. Her voice is so dreamy, smooth and easy on the ears, which is consistent throughout the track. It’s fun hearing her voice in a different style of song. “Pool” has a much different vibe than her hit song “Photo ID” and her tracks on her 2021 album Juno. We could listen to her verse on repeat all day.
Still Woozy doesn’t come into the song until the back half. His verse starts after a slight pause in the song which emphasizes the two perspectives in the song and their friendship. Although it’s a different vibe than Remi’s usual stuff, we think it’s a pretty on-par sound for Still Woozy. We don’t hear them sing together until the last forty seconds or so of the song, but it’s well worth the wait. Their voices fit together in a way that’s refreshing and relaxing. This is Still Woozy’s first single after releasing his debut album in 2021.
They also released the music video for “Pool” and it seems to really capture their style and aesthetic.
The video starts off with a home video quality and feel but then switches to the two in a grassy field, then a backyard pool, and then a carnival ride at dusk. It also includes mid-air poses from them which pair well with the song’s dreamlike sound.
Sven (Still Woozy) and Remi met in 2018 at one of Sven’s shows. From there, the friendship blossomed and Remi joined Sven on his tour in 2019. “Pool” is a perfect celebration of their friendship and how much of a support system they are for each other, a shoulder to lean on.
It’s always fun to see two relatively new, up-and-coming artists work together to create something unique, especially when they already have a strong friendship. The chemistry between them is undeniable and something you don’t see too often. We love their single “Pool” and think you should give it a listen. They’re such a fun duo and we hope to see more from the two of them in the future.
