2016 is finally here and it’s time to refresh our playlists for when we go back to school or even if you are back to work. It might only be January, but it’s not too early to add some new songs and check out some new bands.
1. “Somebody Else” – Clones of Clones
Clones of Clones is an indie band coming straight from Washington D.C. They’ve been around since 2013. Their track “Somebody Else” is from their album Monster Hearts that was released in October 2015. We really hope to hear more from the band in 2016!
2. “Born Again Teen” – Lucius
Lucius is a band that has been praised by Rolling Stone and NPR. This band is fun and their songs are a must to add to your music library. “Born Again Teen” is fun and catchy and it’s off their album Good Greif, which will be released on March 11, 2016.
3. “Come Friday” – Eliot Sumner
Here’s a fun fact about Eliot Sumner: They are the child of Sting from the 80s band The Police. Sumner is super talented and they also don’t label as female or male. Sumner will be releasing their debut album, Information, on January 22, 2016. “Come Friday” is just one of 12 songs to check out.
4. “Cold, Cold Man” – Saint Motel
We are hoping to expect great things from this indie pop band from LA in 2016. Saint Motel is already playing Firefly this summer and not to mention they toured with some incredible bands such as Imagine Dragons, The Artic Monkeys, and Weezer. “Cold, Cold Man” is their second single and we hope they release an album soon!
So there you have it! Four awesome songs to add to your music library. No worries there will be more to come in 2016 Playlist Part 2. What are some songs are you currently listening to? What albums are you looking forward to in 2016? Let us know and make a comment.
