Known for his killer tunes that blend folk, pop, and electronic, Yoke Lore is a talent that defies genre. Known as a former member of Walk the Moon as well as by his former solo project Yellerkin, Yoke Lore is the current solo project of New York’s Adrian Galvin. Since releasing the Far Shore – EP in 2016, Galvin has been steadily gaining praise and a loyal fan base, and deservedly so. Currently sitting at over two million monthly listeners on Spotify, it’s clear that his music has been taking hold.
His show at Portland’s Doug Fir Lounge was absolutely packed. On the floor, at the bar, and on the stairs, there was no space left unclaimed to witness Yoke Lore in the flesh. His dynamic stage presence – that often consisted of thrashing around with a banjo – was beautifully complimented by the vivid colors and textures being projected on stage. Galvin’s voice roared throughout the lounge, as he became a part of the worlds projected upon him. His music became its own universe on stage, as the room quite literally transformed in front of our eyes. It was a breathtaking spectacle courtesy of a breathtaking musician, which made for an unforgettable night of live music. Check out some photos from the show below!
