We had the absolute joy of catching We Were Promised Jetpacks at the Mohawk here in Austin this past Thursday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album These Four Walls. Opening the show was Catholic Action, another Scottish band that formed back in 2014. Their pop sensibility perfectly complemented We Were Promised Jetpacks sound, which lies somewhere between indie rock and punk. It was a packed house, and it’s hard to believe that wasn’t a sold out show! This was a special night as well since this tour run with We Were Promised Jetpacks will be the last with one of their founding guitarists, Michael Palmer. Overall, the show was high energy, with the crowd jumping around and singing along– everyone was excited to be there, the band included… they always have such high energy shows, this one was no different!
