Recently signed to a new label and preparing for their next EP release, Transviolet headed out on their own headlining playing a slew of intimate venues across the U.S. After opening for artists such as Mikky Ekko, Twenty One Pilots, and LANY, Transviolet finally plays to rooms full of their own fans across the country.
The energy and emotion given by the entire band was contagious and drove the Portland crowd wild. The groups front person, Sarah McTaggart, alone has honed her showmanship. Throughout the entire set Sarah was all smiles, moved and danced across the stage constantly and approached her close crowd by holding their hands and singing right up into their faces (and phones). The crowd loved every moment, and danced and shouted the lyrics to nearly every song.
Some of the biggest cheers of the night came as a reaction the other band members, however. Since it’s release, fans have loved bassist Michael Panek’s voice and solo in the song “Don’t Put It On Me,” and hearing this duet live was a special moment for not only the crowd but the band as well. With Reo Cragun absent for his feature in “Kaleidoscope,” guitarist Judah McCarthy took the honors to cover the vocals, surprising and blowing everyone in the venue away.
Their set was well balanced between the two EP’s the group currently has released, and even featured a few unreleased songs from their upcoming EP. The crowd silently enjoyed hearing the new tracks, and undoubtedly cannot wait for the band to return once those songs have been officially released and Transviolet fans have been given the chance to memorize the lyrics.
