On the fourth night of 101WKQX‘s The Nights We Stole Christmas, the crowd was a little tired, but eager for the night ahead. With lovelytheband, Elle King and Death Cab for Cutie on the bill for the cold Sunday night, the audience couldn’t wait to get started.
When former BTS cover star lovelytheband took the stage, the excitement was contagious. With relatable pop-rock music that has quickly broken onto the scene, lovelytheband has grown from a small following to a number one single and performing at some of the nation’s biggest music festivals. When they took the stage at The Nights We Stole Christmas, fans were excited to sing along to “broken,” “these are my friends,” and more and they weren’t disappointed.
Next, rock singing sensation Elle King took the stage, with incredible vocal strength and sound. Her vocals filled every single corner of the venue, with fans singing along with King as she performed some of 2018’s most-relatable songs. Her strong vocals were powerful as she sang “Ex’s & Oh’s,” which has more than twenty million streams on Spotify overall.
Finally, the moment most fans had been waiting for came as Death Cab For Cutie finally took the stage. With a colorful, LED screen which displayed different graphics, DCFC’s set was filled with both old and new tracks, from albums like Transatlanticism to Thank You For Today. Their sound was perfected from the beginning to the end, with the most authentic of sound produced from the band.
Overall, night four was a perfect way to complete an incredible week of sold-out shows.
