On June 14, 2023, rooftop venue Pier 17 in New York City was buzzing as fans eagerly gathered to witness the highly anticipated performance by dynamic duo, The Driver Era. Consisting of brothers Ross and Rocky Lynch, the family band has been making waves in the music industry with their unique blend of alternative pop-rock. As the sun began to set over the iconic venue, the stage was set for a night of high energy songs, guitar riffs, and screaming girls.
The band wasted no time in captivating the audience, opening the show with a thunderous performance of their hit single, “Feel You Now.” Lead singer Ross Lynch was mesmerizing as he gave an incredible vocal performance, and even danced around the stage dropping into a Michael Jackson-esque split that had the crowd hollering. The energy on stage was infectious, with Ross and Rocky bouncing off each other and engaging the audience at every turn. The band members’ genuine connection with their fans was evident, as they interacted with the crowd and gave the girls what they came for.
Standout performances included their acoustic versions of San Francisco and Take Me Away, which was met with thunderous applause. And of course, the infectious and anthemic “Preacher Man,” which had everyone in the crowd singing along. The Driver Era even performed a handful of throwbacks such as the theme song from Ross’ Disney show Austin and Ally and songs from the band’s previous R5 era.
The Driver Era delivered a mesmerizing performance that showcased their evolution as artists and their undeniable ability to entertain. Whether you were a die-hard fan or a casual listener, it was impossible not to be swept up in the excitement. If you have the opportunity to catch The Driver Era live in concert, do not miss out—it’s an experience that will leave you wanting more.
