Drawing influence from artists such as The 1975, Walk the Moon, Colony House and The Killers (as well as sounding eerily similar to the indie pop group LANY), The Band CAMINO are on their way to become the next alt/indie band on everyone’s mind. From Memphis Tennessee, the four piece band features Jeffery Jordan (lead vocals/guitar), Spencer Stewart (guitar/vocals), Graham Rowell (bass), and Caleb Hughes (drums).
The band is currently on a U.S. tour with The Night Game, but that’s not stopping them from giving it all they have in their 8 song set. Opening their set with the quick guitar picking riff of their song “What I Want,” The Band CAMINO quickly shows Portland what their music is about and the high energy performances they’re capable of. Signs of their inspiration is found behind the bands sound, but The Band CAMINO is uniquely themselves. Laden with echoing guitar riffs, layers of melodies, floating instrumentation, and fragile vocals all combine to create The Band CAMINO. Instantly, Portland was in love. Many packed the venue early, and those that hadn’t heard of the band before were quickly turned and engaged throughout the entire set.
The band saved their biggest songs to close out with, to ensure the crowd was left with a lasting memory and impact of the group. “2/14” and “My Thoughts On You” both currently have over 2 million streams on Spotify, with “My Thoughts On You” being closer to 4 million. With the success their sophomore EP Heaven had, it’s exciting to see what direction The Band CAMINO takes from here and what they have in store.
