Kicking off a European tour with multiple sold out dates and also promising fans a brand new album this year, 2020 has already been a huge success for legendary Californian rapper scHoolboy Q. Releasing his album crasH talk in Apil of 2019 the rapstar took his musical talents all over the globe performing his discography to his fans worldwide and we were lucky enough to see the main man himself up close as he brought his show to Manchester, England for a near sold out show at the Manchester Academy.
The rapper enlisted in the help of his good friend and fellow member of the infamous Black Hippy super-group Jay Rock, as he took him along on this tour making it one hell of a show with both artists having such dedicated followings both acts may as well have been headlining for the Mancunian crowd in attendance! Jay Rock got the night started with incredible energy that would last the entire evening, playing some of his most known songs like his collaborations with worldwide superstar Kendrick Lamar and it was songs like this along with his own musical gifts that won the rapper a Grammy back in 2019.
As the lights dimmed in the venue, two masked men took to the stage both wearing paper bag masks as seen on the crasH talk album cover and scHoolboy Q followed shortly after to a huge welcoming from those desperate to get a glimpse of the rapper. Passion eluded from the 33 year old throughout the night as he danced to every single song with seriously impressive dance moves and put on a performance that clearly showed his love for his music and the fans that supported him to become the artist he is now known for worldwide. In what was a great touch, he took a moment to honour the late great Kobe Bryant who recently tragically passed away saying,”Manchester, we gonna turn the f**k up for Kobe Bryant tonight let’s go”, the stage lighting swiftly changed to the LA Lakers purple and yellow colours as he dedicated this performance to the GOAT…
ScHoolboy Q seriously knows how to put on a great show with so much love, passion and good vibes flowing throughout his entire set it was impossible to leave the venue without a smile across your face, with the recent announcement and promise of a new album this year we highly suggest you get down to a show of his whenever you can as you won’t regret your decision!
