Ricky Montgomery brought their Overtime Tour to Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, TN on October 2nd. The show was supported by fellow artist Delainey Bailey.
Ricky Montgomery’s success got a jump start in 2020 when their songs “Line Without a Hook” and “Mr. Loverman” went viral on TikTok. Montgomery was later signed to Warner Records that year, and got to work on their latest EP It’s 2016 Somewhere. They also remixed two songs from the studio album Montgomery Ricky with Chloe Moriondo and mxmtoon. Their work has been described as warm and comforting to their many listeners who appreciate the relatability of their music.
The singer songwriter kicked off their set with “Talk to You” – a single from It’s 2016 Somewhere that centers on the continual grief of the loss of their father. Montgomery continued with “Cabo”, a portrait of a toxic relationship between themself and a girl. The set picked up even more as fans sang along to “Line Without a Hook” – one of the singles that helped to launch Montgomery’s solo career.
