F.O.M.O or Fear Of Missing Out is defined as “Anxiety that an exciting or interesting event may currently be happening elsewhere” and what a perfect title for the experience the boy band, PRETTYMUCH, brought to town back in August.
The hype was real for this show. You could really feel the energy the moment you stepped into the Paramount Theatre. People were there early and ready to get rowdy. The entire general section nearly sang/rapped the words in unison to every song the DJ played prior to the show even starting, which made the night more than memorable. PRETTYMUCH did not disappoint. As the audience waited in anticipation, the audience’s constant chatter from the front row of which member of the band would be in front of them and how their post-show proposal would play out was clearly one of the highlights. The show was supported by the opener, Kenzie, whose performance was the perfect blend of strong vocals and great choreography.
Soon after a 30-minute intermission, the wait was over, the time had arrived. The way the show began, each member of the band ran across the stage in front of a translucent screen which revealed their outline but no details. Do not think for a second that stopped anyone from not being able to tell as one by the crowd grew louder and as each member took their moment to arrive on stage. Their stage looked like something out of a jungle gym for giants. This made for really cool formations for their choreography. Some of the group would tower over the crowd standing on top of what looked like a 15-foot platform and the rest of the group would be eye level. These guys have swagger and they definitely know it. It was fun watching them perform. They have an undeniable charm and a natural ability to engage the crowd. They sang, they danced, they…rapped. This show was definitely worth the wait.
When they head to your city, make sure to grab a ticket or the next day you may catch a bad case of FOMO.
