On February 7th, Korean-American hip-hop artist pH-1 performed in Orlando for the very first time. Bringing along fellow rapper Ted Park as the opening act for the tour, pH-1 has waited a very long time to perform. Six years into his music career and kicking off his very first world tour, “About Damn Time,” there couldn’t be a more fitting title to describe the anticipation between the rapper and his fans worldwide.
We asked fans in the front row how long they waited for their spots close to the stage, and a group of ladies replied, “We’ve been lined up since 4 AM!” & others since 6 AM. demonstrating that the rapper has a dedicated fan base here in Orlando.
Ted Park, like pH-1, is a Korean-American artist who was formerly signed to “H1ghr Music” before becoming an independent artist. The audience was very familiar with Ted’s music, singing along to each song. Ted had a versatile set list, going from high-energy, fast-paced songs to dedicating a sentimental and emotional tribute to a lost loved one. in commemoration when the crowd lit up their phones. Ted recently completed a headlining tour, and we’re hoping to see him again on future tours.
Giving no time for fans to rest after Ted’s set, pH-1 appeared! Going straight to the song and opening his set up with “MEET N’ GREET”
His quick appearance caught fans off guard since most shows include an intermission between the opener and the headliner, but the rapper already waited 6 years for this and left no time wasted.
Before resuming to rap after the first track, pH-1 encouraged some fan participation. “Orlando, on my tour, I have a little chant. “If you don’t know, I’ll show you how.”
“When I say, I’m here!” Then you say, “About damn time!”
The crowd gave their all, reciting the chant back, showing how excited they were for the night. The setlist was curated with popular songs and classics that any longtime fan would appreciate hearing live.
This year is a big one for KHH fans in Orlando, and we hope to welcome more shows with our favorite artists. p-H1 created a memorable night for many!
Thank you to Kohai for allowing Beyond The Stage Magazine to cover the show; we look forward to seeing future tours include Florida.
