Omar Apollo review and photos by Emily Nava
Music fans gathered on Tuesday July 27th at Metro Chicago for Nelarusky: an annual Official Lollapalooza Aftershow and benefit concert for Special Olympics featuring Omar Apollo. Kicking off the show was Chicago’s own Oston, performing catchy, bright melodies with an energy to match. The hometown theme continued with the dynamic Serena Isioma—a singer-songwriter who blends hip-hop, pop, and soul. Apollo closed the show with an incredible performance, including songs from his most recent project “Apolonio” and old favorites from his first release “Stereo”. Apollo proves to be one of the most versatile and diverse artists these days with a set varying of music in distinct styles in English and Spanish, captivating audiences around the world.
