With a voice and style as beautiful as it is unique, London based singer Nao has been turning heads with her music since she burst onto the scene in 2014. Portland’s Wonder Ballroom was greeted by Nao’s magic in person last Monday night on her current tour supporting her sophomore album Saturn. Nao started the show on a pedestal in the middle of the crowd, giving people in all areas of the venue an up close and personal view of the songstress as she started her dynamic set. She quickly moved to the stage where she was met with a bouquet of white balloons – referencing her Saturn album cover – and gave them out to eager fans in the crowd.
Her music translated beautifully into a live setting, as her unique voice seemed all the more potent in person as it captivated the room. Whether she was dancing, posing, or simply strutting around the stage, the audience couldn’t get enough. After many of the songs, the cheering and applause was so loud, Nao had no choice but to smile and laugh until the crowd calmed enough for her to speak or start her next song. The stage seems like a place of such joy and comfort for Nao, and Portland should feel lucky to have seen such a talent in her element. Check out some photos from the show below!
