Lizzy McAlpine brought her very first tour to the Basement East in Nashville, TN on September 26th. The Five Seconds Flat Tour also featured star of the Voice, Carol Ades, as the humorous and engaging opening act.
Lizzy McAlpine’s success blossomed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, with her critically-acclaimed debut studio album Give Me a Minute. In June of 2020, Lizzy released a TikTok singing her unreleased song “You Ruined the 1975”, which gained over 8 million views. Lizzy McAlpine’s artistry does not stop with TikTok – she has since released her second studio album Five Seconds Flat and collaborated with artists like John Mayer, Finneas, and Jacob Collier on a number of projects. Her work has been described as “folk-focused” and “haunting”.
The indie songwriter kicked off her set with “an ego thing”, the second track from her newest album Five Seconds Flat. Fans were certainly happy to hear favorites like “all my ghosts”, “doomsday”, and “erase me” live for the first time since their release. Lizzy closed out the show with the hit song “orange show speedway”.
Lizzy’s US tour has since wrapped up, but be sure to keep an eye out for her next visit to your city – you won’t want to miss it.
