Lindsey Stirling closed out her co-headlining summer tour with Evanescence just outside Portland at Ridgefield, Washington’s, Sunlight Supply Amphitheatre. The unlikely duo had been leaving fans awestruck across the U.S. Evanescence continued their tour late last year with the inclusion of a live orchestra, which was the perfect match and set up for Lindsey’s performance.
Lindsey Stirling and Evanescence had been alternating the stage order throughout the tour, and for this last show Lindsey Stirling was closing things out. After a quick intermission between the acts, Lindsey’s orchestra and band took the stage and the house lights went out. The large multi-paneled screen behind the stage lit up and showed Lindsey’s journey. Clips from Lindsey’s childhood, music videos, performances and her rejection from America’s Got Talent were played behind Lindsey’s inspiring voiceover. The screen went out and Lindsey stood centerstage with a spotlight shining bright on her.
She opened her set with the track “The Arena” from a riser from the back, and proceeded to own the stage. Lindsey’s pranced around the stage, stunning the audience with her ability to dance and move while flawlessly playing her violin. She was joined by numerous choreographed dancers, and at one point frontwoman Amy Lee of Evanescence. The two performed Lindsey’s track “Shatter Me” together, and in the spirit of the final show on tour Amy sang the song in a Chewbacca outfit.
Blazing through her discography through the years, Lindsey’s show stunned the crowd until she strummed the final note on her violin. Even one song in, anyone who hadn’t seen a show (or wasn’t as familiar with the artist) knew this would be an experience unlike any other. Lindsey triumphantly persevered past her doubters and created a unique career for herself. She’s become one of the most special and recognizable artists in the industry, creating a sound and performance unlike any other. A Lindsey Stirling show is jaw-dropping and astounding, and isn’t a show to miss.
