Monday night in Milwaukee brought the 9th stop of L.S. Dunes summer tour to a sold out crowd at the Rave/Eagles Club. The band, often fondly described as a “supergroup,” consists of Circa Survive vocalist Anthony Green, My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero, Coheed and Cambria guitarist Travis Stever, and Thursday drummer Tucker Rule. Forming during the pandemic and following their debut show at Riot Fest in 2022, came the release of their first studio album Past Lives in November.
With support from Baltimore-based Pinkshift, L.S. Dunes took the stage to the cheering of the crowd. The setlist included all of Past Lives in its entirety, along with the most recent single “Benadryl Subreddit,” the title of which Frank Iero confirmed came from a conversation on tour with Mikey Way of My Chemical Romance. Between the crowdsurfing, dancing, and shouting, most of the attendees could be found outside lying in the parking lot immediately afterwards, exhausted and overheated perhaps, but elated.
