In the world of traditional pop, you’d be hard pressed to find a name bigger than Josh Groban. After selling millions upon millions of albums and wowing the world with his unbeatable pipes, Josh Groban has become nothing short of a bonafide superstar, with a reputation as pop music’s leading gentleman. After his show at Troutdale’s historic Edgefield lawn, it’s clear to see why Groban has become the icon he is today.
From the second Groban stepped on stage, the crowd was smitten. His angelic voice soared through the lawn, as the evening sun cast a golden glow upon the stage and spectators. When he first opened his mouth, you could hear gasps from the crowd. Getting to hear and experience Groban’s raw talent in the flesh was something truly special.
After his first two songs, Groban took some time to talk to the crowd, and immediately had everyone in stitches. His ability to be a poised gentleman while singing, and then quickly become an outgoing goofball was perhaps the strongest part of the evening. While we didn’t come to the show expecting tons of laughs, we found ourselves just as excited for his funny quips and stories as we were for his golden pipes and classic tunes. All in all, Josh Groban exceeded every one of our expectations, making for a perfect end of summer evening.
