Fans of the world famous trio had to wait this long for a triumphant return to the Manchester arena and the wait was totally worth it… After breaking the internet with the announcement of the reunion after a 6 year long hiatus Joe, Nick and Kevin swiftly announced a tour which included several dates spread across the UK and Europe for their long awaited returning album Happiness Returns. We had the privilege to be at their fifth and final date in the UK of the Happiness Returns Tour in Manchester to witness the phenomenal return, support for the night came from the incredible Jordan McGraw and fellow boyband Picture This.
The energy inside the arena was electric from the get go and even before the American trio took to the stage you could just feel the good vibes and energy flow from every single fan which was beautiful to see. If there was ever a way to make your return in a film like fashion then the boys knew just how to do that as they arrived via a elevated stage from high up in the arena with fireworks and pyrotechnics galore firing off behind them as they well and truly kicked off this celebration and performance. They played a plethora of their music throughout the night of both new and old giving those in attendance a true tour through the incredible career of the band and even the solo careers of each members including a cover of DNCE’s “Cake by the ocean” which was accompanied by huge wacky inflatable tube men that towered over the main stage much to the delight of the fans. Newly released tracks such as “Cool” and “What a man gotta do” were performed during the night but it was still evident that the fan-base who followed the trio through their Disney days and time on Camp Rock were eager to hear some of the songs that brought the success to the band and the reaction to these performances was unmatched. Before returning for encores they played a cover of Busted’s “Year 300” and quickly returned to close out the night with “Burnin’ up” and “Sucker”, here’s to hoping we don’t have to wait another 10 years for a night like this!
