On March 19th, James Bay’s Electric Light tour made a stop at the Riviera Theatre in Chicago. 2,500 fans gathered for this sold-out show with support from Noah Kahan.
Kahan and his three-piece band took the stage with well-deserved confidence, as fans sang along as enthusiastically as they soon would for Bay. Kahan closed out the set with “Youngblood,” a revered 2017 single that has since accumulated over 27 million streams on Spotify.
While James Bay had an afternoon slot at Lollapalooza 2018, he hadn’t graced the stage of the Riviera Theatre since November 2015, and it was clear that his fans were eager to have him back. The stage had light-up platforms for the drummer and keyboardist, rows of lights at the edge of the stage, and a huge colorful backdrop. Bay and his band played in sync with a beautiful light show that changed beats and colors with each song. With a mixed setlist of songs from Electric Light, Chaos and the Calm, various singles and a Beatles cover. Bay kept the audience enthralled and on their toes the entire night.
Bay’s North American tour continues through early April before heading to Europe. Be sure to check out the rest of the dates here.
