American pop band Imagine Dragons took the stage in St. Louis at the Enterprise Center on February 23rd, 2022. Not even the icy road conditions outside could deter Imagine Dragons fans from missing the show. Formed in 2008, Imagine Dragons are no strangers to success: their songs have been featured in movies, consistently topping radio charts, as well as a whole slew of awards from winning a Grammy to the iHeartRadio awards, American music awards, and more. From songs like radio hit “Believer” to debut single “It’s Time” to “Demons,” lead singer Dan Reynolds had no trouble enthralling the audience.
While being long-time allies of the LGTBQ+ community can admittedly feel like the bare minimum in some cases, with everything going on in Texas at the moment, seeing the bassist Ben McKee take the stage with his trans flag guitar felt touching, especially coming from one of the biggest bands in pop since the 2010s. From the screen intro interlude to confetti cannons to running down the catwalk, Imagine Dragons proved the show was worth braving the winter weather outside. Ending the night with “Walking the Wire,” a reprise of the opener “My Life,” Imagine Dragons left the crowd assured that they had just as much energy, heart, and drive that they did back in 2010.
